Submitted by Tasha Schurter Caring Neighbors Cancer Fund

The Ninth annual Sabetha Goes Pink Run/Walk, held on Saturday, Sept. 24, was again a success. Approximately 80 people participated in this year’s walk, and many donations were received.

The top two males were Bill McGuire and James Johnson. The top two females were Cassie Thompson and Laurel Smith.

All proceeds from the event go to support the Caring Neighbor Cancer Fund, directed by Flora Kirwan, Debra Bailey and Tasha Schurter.

Over the years, money donated to the fund has gifted individuals fighting cancer in Sabetha and surrounding communities. Please contact a Caring Neighbors Cancer Fund director with names of people who could, potentially, benefit from this organization.

The mission for the Caring Neighbor Cancer Fund is to help alleviate costs of local individuals who are battling all types of cancer. It is funded by local residents and the Sabetha Goes Pink Run/Walk. Donations are accepted throughout the year, and can be mailed to Debra Bailey, 339 300th Street, Morrill, KS 66515.

With community support, we can encourage our neighbors in their fight against cancer. Together, we can help make a difference one step at a time!
