Nemaha County Sheriff 10.31.2016

ARRESTS

Gregory R. Fisher, 54, of Sabetha was arrested by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office (NMSO) on Oct. 24 on a Nemaha County warrant for failure to appear. He remains in custody with bond set at $25,000.

Devin T. Hall, 24, of Bern was arrested by the NMSO on Oct. 25 for the offenses of aggravated assault and domestic battery. Hall remains in custody. There is also a hold from Brown County on a failure to appear warrant.

Randall D. Kaster, 44, of Bern was arrested by the NMSO on Oct. 28 for the offense of driving while suspended and also on a Nemaha County warrant for giving a worthless check. Kaster was released on Oct. 29 on $750 cash bond for suspended driver’s license and $915 cash bond for the worthless check warrant. Court date is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 29.

Jesse Hartter was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on Oct. 28 to serve a sentence. He was released on Oct. 30.

Michael E. Gardner was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on Oct. 28 to serve a sentence. He was released on Oct. 30.

John L. Dale was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on Oct. 28 to serve a sentence. He was released on Oct. 30.

April M. Bowman-Tew, 29, of Wetmore was arrested by the NMSO on Oct. 28 for the offense of domestic battery. Bowman-Tew was released on Oct. 29 on $2,500 surety bond with a court date of 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 29.

Courtney Summers, 24, of Seneca was arrested by the Seneca Police Department (PD) on Oct. 29 for the offense of domestic battery. Summers was released on Oct. 30 on $1,500 surety bond with a court date of 9 a.m. on Dec. 21.

Rodney J. Scoggins Jr., 31, of Hiawatha was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on Oct. 29 to serve a sentence. He remains in custody on an active warrant from Dekalb County, Mo. He is awaiting extradition.

ACCIDENTS

On Saturday, Oct. 22 at 10:38 p.m., Jennie L. Davis, 44, of Onaga was traveling southbound on G Road approximately 1/4 mile north of 24th Road when she left the roadway into the ditch. She was driving a 1998 Saturn four door. Damage was listed at more than $1,000.

On Monday, Oct. 24 at 5 a.m., Rodney B. Frederick, 61, of Great Bend was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 36 when he struck a deer. He was driving a 2010 Nissan Frontier. Damage was listed at more than $1,000.

On Saturday, Oct. 29 at 10:23 p.m., Nicholas S. Hines, 30, of Topeka was traveling westbound on Kansas Highway 9, 0.3 mile east of S Road when he struck a deer. He was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup. Damage was listed at more than $1,000.

REPORTED CRIMES / INCIDENT RESPONSES

Some time between 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, suspects damaged two windows on the building located at 5202 Abbott in Goff. Damage was estimated at $600. Investigation is ongoing.

At 10:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, NMSO responded to a disturbance at 642 Section Line Road in Wetmore. April Bowman-Tew was taken into custody as a result of this incident.

At 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, NMSO responded to a disturbance at 2141 State Highway 236 in Oneida. Investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
