Club News: Reavis-Ashley DAR

Reavis-Ashley chapter of DAR met Friday, April 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Falls City, Neb., for the 1 p.m. tea honoring the winners in our essay contest. The winners read their essay to members and parents present. Officers were hostesses. Anne Moser announced the winners and Glenda Nelson handed out certificates and pins to the winners.
Members present were Regent Leota Uhri, Secretary Ann Smith, Beverly Droge, Lola Droge, Moser and Nelson.
A short business meeting followed after the tea. Moser displayed things from Spring Conference. She read the certificates of awards the chapter received.
Uhri opened the business meeting with the chapter opening, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the American’s Creed. The secretary read the minutes, which were approved with corrections. The treasurer’s report was read by Moser in the absence of Dawn Feldkamp.
B. Droge gave the Indian minutes and an interesting article on sand paintings of the SW Indians.
Nelson reported on the invitations to Veterans of the Vietnam War who will be honored at our May 12 meeting to be held at St. Paul’s Church in Falls City. The meeting will be at 1 p.m. with members coming at noon. Hostesses will be Uhri, Sue Rottman and Joy Robison.
