Morrill City Council

Council met in regular session on Monday, June 5, with members Mary Meyer, Dan Halstead, Miles Ploeger and Todd Gruber present. Mayor Roger Price presided. Superintendent Lee Wymer was present.
Minutes and vouchers were approved on a motion. After reviewing Sabetha’s grass ordinance, it was approved to adopt it.
Concerning an individual’s idea of having events downtown, it was decided if the chamber is interested in running it, no one would be opposed.
Supt. Wymer presented the water tower cleaning and inspection report. Council members approved having a roof spot welded and caulked. It was decided to have the painting worked into the budget within the next three years.
It was decided to look around for someone to appoint as municipal judge due to the resignation of the current judge.
The clerk said the trial date for the small claims case has been set.
It was discussed how to take care of the flower baskets.
It was approved to allow the cemetery to use the city’s dump truck for graves only.
Council went into executive session for 15 minutes to discuss Supt. Wymer’s annual evaluation. Council reconvened, and approved to increase Supt. Wymer’s wages by $0.25 per hour.
