Berwick Home Benefit FCE Unit

The Berwick Home Benefit FCE Unit met at 2 p.m. Monday, July 10, in the dining room of the Apostolic Christian Home West Village. There were 30 guests and six members present who enjoyed the afternoon meeting.
Following the flag salute, Roma McCorkle introduced the members.
Glennis Lippert introduced the two speakers — Nemaha County Sheriff Rich Vernon and Nemaha County Attorney Brad Lippert.They presented a very informative program on fraud and scams.
If you have received messages on your cell phone asking for personal information, you should not reply to those messages. Don’t trust individuals who call you by the phone trying to collect payments of any kind. If someone calls you about an account, make sure you know who you are talking to. Be aware at all times. If you have questions regarding a suspicious phone call or message, report it to your local law enforcement office.
Guests were served angel food cake topped with blueberries, strawberries and cool whip. Ice tea and nuts were served as well. Door prizes were given to three lucky winners. Ruth Meyer was the hostess of this yearly event.
