Nemaha County Sheriff 8.10.17


Dylan Palmer, 32, of Bern was booked into Nemaha County Jail on Aug. 5 on a failure to appear warrant. He bonded out on the same day on a $1,000 cash bond with a court date of Aug. 29 at 9 a.m.

Bethany Cain was released to the custody of Jefferson County on Aug. 8. She was granted probation on the Nemaha County case.

Marcus E. Henninger, 24, of Goff was arrested on Aug. 8 by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office and the Seneca Police Department on a Nemaha County warrant for aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. The warrant was issued based upon a report taken by Seneca PD on Aug. 7. Henninger remains in custody.

Michael A. Bankes, 55, of Sabetha was arrested by the Sabetha PD on Aug. 9 for the offense of domestic battery. Bankes remains in custody.

Reginald Scott Jr., 27, of Axtell was booked into the Nemaha County Jail after his court appearance on Aug. 10. He remains in custody.

John D. Hopp, Jr., 43, of Sabetha was booked into the Nemaha County jail on Aug. 10 on two Nemaha County warrants for probation violation. Hopp remains in custody.


At 5:55 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, Daniel B. Schultejans, 26, of Corning was traveling southbound on Kansas Highway 9, 0.7 mile north of 52nd Road when he struck a deer. He was driving a 1999 Pontiac two-door. Damage was estimated at less than $1,000.


On Wednesday, Aug. 9, the NMSO received a report of a brick being thrown through the front door of a residence at 302 Commercial Street in Centralia sometime between 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, and 8:30 a.m.  Monday, Aug. 7. Damage is estimated at $300.

On Wednesday, Aug. 9, the NMSO took a report of theft from 1587 164th Road in Seneca. An unknown person entered the residence and removed approximately 25 pounds of hamburger from the deep freeze sometime between noon Wednesday, July 12, and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9. Loss is estimated at $100.
