Nemaha County 4-H Council 8.14.17
The Nemaha County 4-H Council met at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14. Marissa Randel called the meeting to order and led the flag salute and 4-H pledge. Anna Knapp conducted roll call and read the minutes from the previous minutes. Mika Schmelzle gave the financial report.
Under old business, the council wrote thank you cards for fair donations. They discussed the food stand, set-up/clean-up, and ways to improve consultation judging. Everyone thought the entertainment and games during the fair were good. The Welcome Signs committee gave an update on the progress of replacing signs around the county that welcome people to Nemaha County 4-H.
During new business, the date for Achievement Night was set for Friday, Nov. 3. They asked for thoughts from the clubs on the Friend of 4-H. They discussed record book judging and ways 4-H clubs can kick off the 2018 4-H year.
During staff reports, Deb Henry thanked everyone for their help at the fair and asked for any thoughts on fair improvements. The council also decided officer training would be Monday, Oct. 30. Ross Mosteller talked about the membership fee that will be starting in the 2018 4-H year and stressed to make sure everyone in the clubs know about it.
After announcing that the next 4-H Council meeting would be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, Randel adjourned the meeting.
