Sabetha woman to perform with homecoming choir

Submitted by Tina Goodwin, Director of Public Relations

The McPherson College Choir will close a full weekend of homecoming activities with a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Church of the Brethren. This is the first public performance for the college choir this year.

Elisha Wilcock of Sabetha is one of the choir members.

The program, titled “Homeward Bound,” will feature pieces from a number of style periods, genres, and languages all relating to the theme of coming home. The concert also will feature the inaugural performance of two newly formed ensembles at McPherson College.

Bella Voce, which means beautiful voices, is the new small women’s group from the choir and The Singing Statesmen is the new small men’s group. The Singing Statesmen will perform several pirate songs. Members of the college choir auditioned for places in each ensemble. The eventual goal is for the ensembles to perform outside of campus.

The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
