ACCIDENTS

On Sept. 3, the Sabetha Police Department (SPD) took a report of a minor two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Sixth and Oregon. Michael Richey was operating a 1999 Dodge when he backed into an unoccupied parked vehicle. There were no injuries.

On Sept. 7, the SPD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the high school parking lot. A juvenile operator was driving a 2002 Ford when they collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000. No injuries were reported at the scene.

On Sept. 11, the SPD responded to a one-vehicle accident near the intersection of Main and Oregon. Dudley Johnson was operating a 2000 Ford Explorer when it left the roadway, went over a culvert and came to stop on the west side of the roadway. Johnson was transported by ambulance to the Sabetha Community Hospital.

On Sept. 14, the SPD took a report of a hit and run accident near the intersection of 14th and Main. The vehicle that left the scene was located, no charges have been filed at this time.

On Sept. 28, the SPD took a report of a multiple vehicle accident in a parking lot near Ninth and Virginia. The accident occurred on private property and damage was minor.

On Sept. 29, the SPD took a report of a hit and run accident at Ampride. The vehicle was located, and no charges have been filed at this time.

CASES

On Sept. 6, the  SPD arrested 26-year-old Kalan Pyle of Atchison on a Sabetha municipal warrant for failure to appear.

On Sept. 7, the SPD took a report of a theft in the 300 block of South 11th. The case has since been solved, and it is believed that the theft was a misunderstanding. No charges are pending.

On Oct. 3, the SPD took a report of a stolen pickup in the 1300 block of Main. The pickup has since been recovered, and charges are pending as a result of the investigation.
