The 10th Annual Sabetha Goes Pink Run/Walk, held on Saturday, Sept. 30, was again a success. Many participated in this year’s walk and many donations were received. John Lehman, Lori Menold, Margaret Hundley and Kirsten Hartter were among the top winners.

Participants in the Sabetha Goes Pink Run/Walk begin the race on Saturday morning, September 30.

All proceeds from the event go to support the Caring Neighbors Cancer Fund, directed by Flora Kirwan, Debra Bailey and Tasha Schurter.

In addition to the event itself, Morrill and Janes Bank presented the Caring Neighbors Cancer fund a check of $ 1,626.22 as proceeds from the Pink Ribbon Debit card program they offer.

The mission for the Caring Neighbors Cancer Fund is to help alleviate costs associated by local individuals who are battling all types of cancer. It is funded by local residents and the Sabetha Goes Pink Run/Walk.

Over the years, money donated to the fund has gifted individuals fighting cancer in Sabetha and surrounding communities. Please contact a Caring Neighbors Cancer Fund director with names of people who could, potentially, benefit from this organization. Donations are accepted throughout the year and can be mailed to: Debra Bailey, 339 300th St., Morrill, KS 66515.

With community support, we can encourage our neighbors in their fight against cancer. Together, we can help make a difference one step at a time!
