NEK-CAP, Inc.: Low-income election date set

The Northeast Kansas Community Action Program (NEK-CAP, Inc.) will hold a low-income election for the Northern Region (Brown, Doniphan, Jewell, Marshall, Nemaha, Republic and Smith counties) for the Multi-County Board of Director’s Low-Income Representative on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 1 and 2, at our centers located in the counties listed above from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. For exact addresses to our sites, please visit our website www.nekcap.org to get directions.
The election will be one representative elected to serve on NEK-CAP’s Multi-County Board of Directors beginning January 2018 for a three-year term.
Absentee ballots are available prior to Election Day at either location listed above, for persons unable to vote on the scheduled day. Absentee ballots are to be returned no later than 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2.
Individuals residing in the county who are 18 years of age or older, and whose household income is below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, will be able to vote.
