Brown County Commission 11.6.2017
The Board of Brown County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, Nov. 6, with the following members present: Chairman Steve Roberts, Dwight Kruse and Keith Olsen. Also present was County Clerk Melissa Gormley. County Attorney Kevin Hill was present for a portion of the meeting.
Gormley presented the following for the commissioners’ approval:
• Notice of Intention to Vacate Road for the commission’s approval. Commissioners approved the notice. Gormley will send notification to landowners.
• KCAMP Member Contribution Credit and Rate Stabilization Program to the commissioners for review. Commissioners approved signing a three-year agreement with KCAMP to insure there is no more than 2 percent increase for each year. This will also give the County an $8,510 contribution credit on the 2018 premium.
Loren Henry of SBS Insurance was present to discuss insurance options with the commissioners. Henry presented a bid of $109,218.
John Matalone of Matalone Insurance was available by telephone for the employee health insurance renewal from Blue Cross BlueShield. Commissioners approved the 2018 Blue Cross Blue Shield employee health insurance.
Brown County Undersheriff Randy Linck, reported that there are 28 inmates – 23 males and five females – in the County Jail.

Commissioners approved the Oct. 31 minutes.
Commissioners held a 10-minute executive session with Hill and Gormley, present to discuss security measures with executive session necessary to not jeopardize the security measures that protect county employees. No binding action was taken.
The next regular meeting was held Monday, Nov. 13. These minutes were not available at The Herald’s press time.
