ACCIDENTS

On Nov. 5, the Sabetha Police Department (SPD) responded to a two-vehicle minor accident in the parking lot of The Main Event. There were no injuries reported at the time of the accident.

On Nov. 6, the SPD took a report of a hit and run accident in the 700 block of South Washington. An unknown vehicle had stuck a legally parked unattended vehicle and left the scene without notifying anyone. That accident remains under active investigation.

On Nov. 6, the SPD took a report of a one-vehicle car accident on Kansas Road. Logan Metzger was westbound on Kansas in a 1997 Dodge when he struck the deer. Damage is estimated at more than $1,000, and there were no reports of injuries at the time of the accident.

CASES

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the SPD took a report of an attempted burglary and criminal damage to property in the 900 block of Main Street. The suspect had damaged the back door of a business in an attempt to make entry into the business. This report remains under active investigation.

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the SPD responded to an altercation in the 300 block of Oregon Street. Reports were taken, and charges are pending as a result of the investigation.

On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the SPD took a report of a possible vicious dog in the 1400 block of Main. Reports were taken, and charges may be pending.

On Sunday, Nov. 5, the SPD arrested Douglas Doty, 60, of Sabetha for domestic battery and criminal threat. Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of North Sixth Street and, after a short investigation, took Doty into custody for the alleged crime. Doty was transported and booked into the Nemaha County Jail.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, the SPD took a report of vandalism in the 1700 block of Frontage Road. The suspects were identified, and a compromise has been met. There are no charges pending at this time.

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, the SPD was called to take a report of forgery at the All Star truck stop. The report remains under active investigation, and there are no suspects at this time.
