Club News: Brown County Genealogical Society

The Nov. 16 Brown County Genealogical Society meeting was opened by President Charles Carr, with nine members and guests present.

The October Treasurer’s Report was given by Gail Coker-Carr, and the October minutes were read by Marla Hathhorn. Both reports were approved.

The Santa’s Attic Craft Show fundraiser was a great success, with 46 spaces sold to vendors.

Nominations for the 2018 Officers were requested. Lyle Hinz made a motion to nominate Charles Carr for president, Nancy Prawl for vice president, Gail Coker-Carr for treasurer and Marla Hathhorn for secretary. It was voted to accept the nominated slate of officers for 2018.

The Genealogy Library holiday hours will be as follows: closed Nov. 17-27 for Thanksgiving; closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 2 for Christmas and New Year’s.

The next meeting will be on Dec. 21, the annual Christmas party. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy will be provided by Prawl and Penny Milroy. Members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert and your own table service. We will also have a White Elephant Auction.

Meeting was adjourned, with refreshments being served by Milroy.
