The Sabetha Community Hospital Guild met at noon Monday, Nov. 20, at the EMS building. A delicious lunch of white bean chicken chili, corn bread and cookies was served.
The meeting was opened by Deb Thompson, and discussion was held on the Bloodmobile, which will be in Sabetha on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Members were reminded of the upcoming bake sale, which will be offered at the Downtown Coffee Shop beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.
Election of some of the officers was held. Sue Brockhoff will once again be the treasurer, and Julie Holthaus will serve as vice president. Congratulations to these two ladies!
Discussion was held on the Alice Priest Memorial and the Harold Hartter Memorial. Discussion will continue at the January meeting.
Guest speaker was Gina Murchison, director of the Sabetha Chamber of Commerce. Murchison encouraged all members to get out and be a part of Window Opening on Friday, Nov. 24. This year’s theme is “Inside Santa’s Workshop.”
Murchison also encouraged people to remember to use Chamber gift certificates for Christmas presents. Last year, $13,000 worth of gift certificates were purchased.
Murchison also shared some of the upcoming events the chamber will be sponsoring in 2018.
With no further business, the meeting was closed. There will be no meeting in December.
