Injury accident: One injured in Brown County wreck

An 80-year-old woman is left injured after an accident in Brown County on Thursday, Nov. 30.

At approximately 2:02 p.m., the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) responded to a two-vehicle accident at 240th and Raccoon Road – approximately one mile north of U.S. Highway 36 on Raccoon Road.

According to the KHP, a 2008 Ford F-350 driven by Lane Spiker, 19, of Robinson was southbound on Raccoon Road and slid through the intersection due to gravel a struck a 2005 Dodge Neon driven by Cora Rahe, 80 of Hiawatha, who was traveling eastbound on 240th Road. Rahe was transported to KU Medical Center with disabling injuries. Spiker was not injured in the accident.

The KHP said Rahe and Spiker were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
