On Monday, Dec. 4, Wetmore High School and Middle School students performed for their Christmas Concert. Choir and band teacher, Seth Stiers, conducted the groups.
The middle school band started the night with “Majestic March,” followed by “Welcome to Jurassic Park” and “Good King Wenceslas.” The high school then followed middle school playing “Birdland,” “Carol of the Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
For the third year in a row, junior Seth Shumaker played a solo on his guitar at the Christmas Concert. Shumaker played an excerpt from “The Stage.”
“I found metal and my love for guitar by accident… ever since then, I’ve just been running with it, and it’s pretty awesome,” Shumaker said.
Following Shumaker’s performance was the middle school choir. They started their performance with “House at Pooh Corner,” followed by “It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas,” and finishing with “Run Run Rudolph.”
Finishing the night was the high school choir. They sang “True Colors,” “The Christmas Song,” and “Mary Did You Know?”
Graduating senior Faith Bratcher was pleased with the job she and her choir mates did.
“I thought it [the concert] was great,” Bratcher said. “It really put us all in the Christmas Spirit.”
