Nemaha County Community Health Services (NCCHS) is pleased to congratulate one of the staff nurses, Misty Scott, who has successfully met the criteria and passed the exam to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
To be eligible to become an IBCLC, Scott completed 90 hours of lactation education and 1,000 hours of supervised clinical experience with breastfeeding mothers and babies within the past five years, and passed the IBCLC exam.
Scott is a lactation consultant at the breastfeeding clinic located in NCCHS’ Sabetha office, 1004 Main. She is available to meet with families between 10 a.m. and noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The breastfeeding clinic is a walk-in clinic. No appointment necessary during operating hours. It is free of charge and open to the public.
Scott is excited to practice the knowledge obtained during the certification to better assist mothers and babies with their breastfeeding goals.
