Sabetha blood drive is set for January 23
Submitted by Lyla Edelman
Local donors have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves for a good cause on Tuesday, Jan. 23, when the Community Blood Center (CBC) comes to town for a blood drie. CBC is the primary provider of blood and blood components to 70 plus hospitals and medical centers in the Kansas City region.
Blood Drive Coordinator Lyla Edelman said that she recently received an email from CBC alerting her that there is an emergency need for blood. Due to cold weather, holidays and the flu season, the falloff in blood donation has been significantly sharper than expected and worse that it has been in years.
Sabetha individuals can help by donating blood at this CBC blood drive from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23. The drive will be held at 805 Main in the Sabetha City Hall Gym.
