ACCIDENTS

On Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, the Sabetha Police Department (SPD) was called to investigate a hit and run accident in the 1000 block of Virginia Street.

On Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, the SPD responded to a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Oregon and Old Highway 75. A juvenile operating a 2003 Ford collided with a 2009 Ford being driven by Jacob Strahm. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000 and no injuries were reported at the scene.

On Wednesday, Jan. 3, the SPD responded to a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Jefferson and 11th. Robin Hill was operating a 2003 Toyota when she backed into a parked 2013 Chrysler. Damage at the scene was estimated to be at more than $1,000.

CASES

On Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, the SPD arrested Jonathan Dawson, 27, of Pawnee City, Neb., on a Richardson County, Neb., warrant.

On Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, the SPD arrested Robert Hobbs, 41, of Fairview on a Hiawatha municipal warrant.

On Friday, Dec. 21, 2017, the SPD arrested Jacob Asher, 24, of Sabetha for domestic battery, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. The SPD arrested Felina Ibarra, 26, of Sabetha for domestic battery, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Officer’s were called to an altercation that took place in the 300 block of Cedar. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence and the drugs and paraphernalia were confiscated. Both Ibarra and Asher were transported and booked into the Nemaha County Jail. A juvenile that was also at the residence was taken into protective custody and placed in a safe home.

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the SPD responded to an altercation in the 900 block of Harrison. An investigation was made into the incident, and charges are pending as a result of the investigation.
