The December meeting of the Stateliner 4-H Club was called to order by Helen Krehbiel at 6:30 p.m. at the Bern Community Building on Dec. 21, 2017.

Lane Mosteller and Jenny Edelman led us in the Flag salute and 4-H pledge. Edelman led us in singing “Away in a Manager” in honor of the Christmas season.

Amanda Krehbiel called the roll of members by naming our favorite holiday tradition. A. Krehbiel read the minutes of the November Achievement meeting, and they were approved.

Luke Renyer gave the treasurer’s report. Maddy Mosteller said that her report was published in the Seneca Courier Tribune and The Sabetha Herald.

Mary Renyer, club leader, reported that 4-H Day will be March 3 at Jackson Heights School. It was announced that the next meeting will be held on Jan. 22 at the Bern Community Building. The club adjourned to have our Christmas party.

Collin Jost asked if we wanted to play games or have our gift exchange first. Playing games was the winner! The first game was a balloon game with balloons tied to our ankles and other people trying to pop them by stepping on the balloons. This got kind of loud, but was lots of fun.

The second game involved us acting out a Christmas song or Christmas related activity. We divided up into two teams, with one team member acting out the song or activity and the rest of the team guessing what they were doing. The final game was trying to unwrap a present with bulky gloves on.

Finally, we had our gift exchange. Everyone brought a $5 gift that was green for either a boy or girl. We rolled dice to pass the gifts to the left or right or we could steal a gift or keep it. It was very fun to see what each member received, everyone had a good time!
