The photo has no date on it. Nine of the following twelve people in this photo are buried in the Sabetha Cemetery and two of these are Sabetha High School graduates. Cello player, Robert Holtzschue, second from the left in top row, is a 1900 graduate of Sabetha High School, and at the far right in that row is Chauncey J. Durst, born in 1862 and died at Sabetha in 1939. Beginning with the first of the two men from left to right in the center row, Phil Sherwood was born in 1882 and died at Sabetha in 1931. Phil Sherwood worked at National Bank of Sabetha as a bookkeeper and assistant cashier from 1899 to 1908 before going into business with his father’s drugstore. To his left is Bill Lyons, born February 20, 1871, and died at Sabetha on May 17, 1919. Pictured int he front row are (L-R) Edith Kepner, born on November 17, 1881, graduating from Sabetha High School in 1898 and died at Sabetha on April 30, 1909; violinist Addie Hook was born in 1882 and died at Sabetha in 1960; violonist Mable Stewart Bush born in 1883 and died at Sabetha in 1925; and violinist W. O. Bush, born January 20, 1851, dying at Sabetha on August 11, 1902.
