4-H Club: Fairview Willing Workers
Submitted by Jacob Rieger, Reporter
The Fairview Willing Workers met for their monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Hiawatha Lanes Bowling Alley. There were 15 members and one guest at the meeting. Several parents were in attendance.
The meeting opened with roll call being, “What is your New Years Resolution.” This was an interesting question with lots of interesting responses. I think one member said, “to be less sassy” in which the mother replied, “too late.”
During the meeting, the club discussed upcoming Club Days. It was voted to do a song this year for competition. Club Days is March 3 and Regional Club Day is March 7. Members were encouraged to have individual projects also. This year is the 100 year celebration of the Brown County Fair.
Congratulations are in order to our member, Megan Brockhoff, who won the theme contest. She designed the theme, which is “Century of Making The Best Better.” T-shirts will be ordered for all members. Everyone is already looking forward to the fair this summer.
The club leaders announced some details about Citizens in Action which is coming up and information about next month’s meeting.
To conclude the meeting, Kodi Miller presented a demonstration on making a snack mix and Kody Johansen gave a talk about “Baiting Deer.”
After the meeting was adjourned, everyone had a great time bowling! Snacks were enjoyed by everyone.
