Merle L. Marmet, 86, of Topeka, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at Rossville Nursing Home.
He was born July 18, 1931, on a farm north of Sabetha, the son of Wesley and Viola (Enchelberger) Marmet.
Merle graduated from Honey Creek High School in 1949 at Salem, Neb. After graduating, he proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the United States Post Office in Topeka, retiring in 1986. He was an active member of the Soldier Christian Church for many years.
On Oct. 7, 1953, Merle married Mary Ann Wagner in Humbolt, Neb. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Susan (Mike) Diehl of Sanger, Texas, and Linda (Bruce) Powell of Topeka; two brothers, Marion Marmet of Sabetha and Paul Marmet of Topeka; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Marmet.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Soldier Cemetery.
