Kristi Edelman ties for 11th at regional bee

Kristi Edelman of Sabetha competed in the 65th annual Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 10. Edelman, a seventh grade student of the F.A.S.T. Home School Group, tied for 11th place.

Forty-six competitors from 23 northeast Kansas counties competed in the Bee, which was sponsored by the Kansas Press Association. There were 27 rounds in the oral spelling bee, which included two vocabulary rounds.

Edelman qualified for the Regional Bee when she placed first at the Nemaha County Spelling Bee held in February. She is the daughter of David and Sheri Edelman.
