Morrill City Council 3.5.18

The Morrill City Council met in regular session Monday, March 5, with members Todd Gruber, Kevin Wikle, Dan Halstead and Bob Baumgartner present. President of Council Todd Gruber presided. Superintendent Lee Wymer was present.
Minutes and vouchers were approved.
After discussion with Fire Chief Charlie Gruber, the council decided to allow Matt Beer to join the fire department. Gruber also mentioned the fire department had purchased a pump for the tanker truck.
Calvin Brougher said he feels the city shop should be painted. Brougher also said he would like to have the pistol his grandfather had used when his grandfather was the city marshal. Council members said they would consider both requests. Brougher then leaves.
It was decided Teresa Cole could pay her two dog-at-large fines by April 10.
It was decided to contact the city attorney concerning some changes that could be made to the trailer house and camper ordinance. Wymer is to check with an individual about the status of a camper that has been parked at the residence through the winter.
The small claims case is going to be put on the court docket.
To proceed with the next procedure of non-payment of a dog-at-large fine was decided.
Discussed was the violations that the city has after the inspection that was made by the Kansas Department of Labor.
The council approved giving Ann Dietrich the city’s demolition assistance of $2,000.
