Letter to the Editor: Do not raise my taxes
You have to be very skeptical when someone writes in the Topeka Capital Journal, “Please, I beg you, raise my taxes.” I say, “Please, I beg you, do not raise my taxes.” If you want more money for schools, pick a school or schools and donate your money and or time to them. You want a pot hole fixed, call you county commissioner or city commissioner. You want to help the poor and unfortunates, give money or time to your church and or charities. 100% of the people I know do not want their taxes raised. There are a lot of things that can be done to fix issues before you beg for taxes to be raised. It seems to be in the Liberal mindset that the first recourse is to raise taxes. How about better management of our monies and less abuse of our tax dollars by our elected officials and overseers.
