Youth Organization: United 4 Youth Countywide 4.9.18

The United 4 Youth Board of Directors met for their monthly meeting at 6:45 p.m. Monday, April 9, in Seneca. Board members present were Heather Stewart, Krista Stallbaumer, Wendy Lierz, Adam Reel, Jessica Atwood, Nick Scott, Scott Anson and Susan Bowman. Executive Direct Sarah Renyer and guest Brianna Gruber also were present.

The board unanimously approved the March minutes.

Scott gave the treasurer’s report and presented a new budget for the 2018-19 year. Scott asked questions regarding the upcoming year’s budget and went over the budgeted expenses.

Renyer and Stewart discussed the KDADS Implementation Grant for which United 4 Youth will be applying. They said they needed board members to review the grant narrative and suggest any necessary changes. Reel and Bowman volunteered to review the narrative. Renyer said the corrections will need sent back by Sunday, April 15.

Old Business

Board Positions: Renyer reported that Brad Lippert, Tina Zartman and Jason Drahota will be joining the board beginning in May 2018. One position still needs filled, and Gruber was there to observe and decide if she wants to join the board.

Turn in Binders: Board members turned in binders, so they could be updated.

Alcohol EDU: Renyer reported that three schools — Nemaha Central, Sabetha and Wetmore — said they were interested in implementing Alcohol EDU. She reported that the cost associated with Alcohol EDU is for all of the reports that can be accessed in order to show the impact. Centralia already has another funding sources for Alcohol EDU.

New Business

Election of Officers: The board unanimously elected Anson as treasurer, Stewart as secretary, Stallbaumer as chair, and Lierz as vice chair. The board also voted unanimously to allow the new officers to sign the signature cards, which allows them to sign on the board and grant checking account.

Mail System: A system will be worked out between with Bowman and Stewart to get mail that is sent to the United 4 Youth Board Office.

Summer Prevention: The board discussed options for summer prevention and possibly options for coalition exposure at the Nemaha County Fair. The discussion was tabled until the May meeting.

SLC Meeting on April 20: Renyer requested that any officers who are available to attend are welcome.

Date and Location of May meeting: Renyer will email out dates for the next meeting to board members.
