Sabetha High School art students earn at Highland contest

Highland Community College held its 38th annual Art Day on Thursday, April 27. The event consisted of an art contest with a variety of art workshops and competitions throughout the day. There were 41 high schools in attendance, more than 500 high school students,55 high school teachers and chaperones.

More than 1,000 high school student artworks were displayed. Students and teachers had the opportunity to participate in many activities such as chalk drawings, self-portraits, photograms, clay sculpting and logo design workshops, as well as competitions in art history, wheel throwing, self-portraits, sidewalk chalk drawing and miniature clay sculpture.

The competition was divided into two categories: 1A, 2A and 3A schools and 4A, 5A and 6A schools. Each school is allowed to enter 30 artworks. Sabetha placed third.
