Nemaha Farm Bureau awards scholarships

Nemaha County Farm Bureau awarded four $500 scholarships for the upcoming 2018-19 school term to graduating seniors with parents who are members in Nemaha County. This marks the 26th consecutive year that our county has been giving scholarships to college bound students.

This year’s recipients include Sonja Menold, Sabetha High School, daughter of Christopher and Amy Menold; Angela Holthaus, Nemaha Central High School, daughter of Jeanne Holthaus; Max Holthaus, Nemaha Central High School, son of David and Teresa Holthaus; and Bailey Schmitz, Nemaha Central High School, daughter of Kenny and Diane Schmitz.

Menold plans to attend Kansas State University and study pre-nursing. A. Holthaus will attend Washburn University to pursue a bachelor of science degree in nursing. M. Holthaus will be entering Kansas State University and major in computer science with a minor in mathematics. Schmitz will attend Washburn University to pursue her nursing degree.
