Fifth grade students present National Park reports
Submitted by Sheryl Plattner, SES fifth grade teacher
Sabetha Elementary School fifth grade students participated in a National Park Day where they dressed up as park rangers and shared about a National Park found in the United States.
Students began their journey by writing to their park and asking for information about their park. To the delight of the students, the parks sent them detailed information via mail. What a fun opportunity to receive mail about their park.
Students then began researching and completing various projects using information about their park from math to written language to artwork.
For the cumulating activity, students held a National Park Day during where guests were invited to listen to their presentations about their particular park. The students also created painted scenes from their park during art class, which were on display during the National Park Day.
If you would like more information about a park, be sure to ask a fifth grade student to tell you about their park.
