Court Updates: Daniel Russo III appears for preliminary hearing
An Omaha, Neb., man who was arrested and charged last month for sexual exploitation of a child appeared in court for his preliminary hearing.
Daniel J. Russo III, 48, appeared in a Nemaha County courtroom Monday, June 4, for his preliminary hearing. According to Nemaha County Attorney Brad Lippert, Russo is now scheduled for a status conference at 1:15 p.m. Monday, July 9.
Russo was arrested May 7, 2018, and was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. According to Lippert, a complaint was filed in the District Court of Nemaha County, that alleges that Russo persuaded, induced or enticed a child under 18 years of age to engage in sexually explicit conduct with the intent to promote the performance. It also alleges that Russo promoted a performance that included sexually explicit conduct by a child under 18 years of age.
This case was investigated by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department, the Hiawatha Police Department, and the Omaha Police Department. Russo was released from the Nemaha County Jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
