Jim Brownfield, 33, was arrested on June 10 by the Sabetha PD for the offense of driving while suspended. He was released to Sabetha PD for transport to Brown County on June 10 as the arrest was made in Brown County.
Anthony S. Holthaus, 47, of Seneca was arrested by the NMSO on June 10 for the offense of driving under the influence. He was released on June 10 on $1,000 cash bond with a court date of July 10 at 9:30 a.m.
Leonard M. Starcher, 43, of Mclouth was arrested on June 10 by Seneca PD on an Osage County warrant for failure to appear. He was released on June 10 on $1,000 surety bond with a court date of July 10 at 10 a.m. in Osage County.
At 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, Laurene G. Higgins, 38, of Lawrence was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 36 at the County Landfill when a truck pulled out from the landfill driveway in front of her. She made an evasive maneuver and slid into the ditch. Higgins was transported to Nemaha Valley Community Hospital by private vehicle. She was driving a 2015 Honda CRV. Damage is estimated at more than $1,000.
At 1:46 p.m. Thursday, June 7, Dustin R. Deters, 23, of Seneca was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 36 just west of D Road in the right-hand lane of the four-lane stretch of highway. Gregory L. Tiuan, 52, of Saguache, Colo., also was traveling westbound at that location in the left hand lane. Deters attempted a left turn from his lane and impacted Tiuan’s vehicle. Deters was driving a 2018 Case IH Spray Applicator. Tiuan was driving a 1985 Ford motorhome pulling a trailer. Damage is estimated at more than $1,000.
At 1:53 p.m. Thursday, June 7, Karen Buessing, 60, of Baileyville was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 36 just east of B Road when she was struck by a stray tire rolling down the highway. She was driving a 2017 GMC Acadia. Damage is estimated at more than $1,000.
