Autumn P. Brown, 26, of Wetmore was arrested on June 18 by the NMSO on a Pottawatomie County warrant for contempt of court. Brown was released on June 18 on $900.31 cash bond with a court date of Aug. 3 at 9 a.m.

Albert Murata, 48, of Horton was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on June 18 on a Nemaha County warrant for failure to appear. He remains in custody with bond set at $250.

Derrick J. Wichman was released on June 18 on $75,000 surety bond with a court date of June 27 at 11:30 a.m.

Jess Gustin was released on June 20 on $5,000 own recognizance bond with a court date of Aug. 9 at 9 a.m.


At 1:15 p.m. Sunday, June 17, Barbara J. Finnegan, 66, of Seneca was backing from a private drive into Essie Street in Bern just west of Matthews when she struck a parked vehicle. She was driving a 2016 Kia Sportage. The parked vehicle was a 2013 Kia Soul owned by Bridget F. Harvey. Damage was listed at more than $1,000.

At 9:22 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, Kenneth D. Miller, 45, of Sabetha was traveling west on Kansas Highway 9 near milepost 271 when he struck a deer. He was driving a 2018 Dodge Charger. Damage was listed at more than $1,000.


NMSO took a report of burglary to a disabled vehicle parked along U.S. Highway 36 at R Road. Sometime between 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, and 10 a.m. Sunday, June 17, someone broke the rear passenger side window and removed the stereo face plate. Loss and damages are estimated at $125.
