Linda Carol (Pitts) Steiner, 76, died Thursday, May 31, 2018.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1941, in West Plains, Mo., to Carrold and Inez (Inman) Pitts. The family moved several times before settling in Sugar Creek, Mo. Linda graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1959. She then attended Kansas City Business School.
Linda was the mother of three children with her first husband, Richard Harter. She married Larry Steiner in 1973, welcoming a blended family of three more children. She was the assistant vice president in the loan department at Columbia Union National Bank in Kansas City. She then worked at Home State Bank and then Vance Publishing.
She and Larry transferred from Lord of Life Lutheran Church to Christ Lutheran Church in Overland Park when they moved from Leawood to Overland Park. Linda was an active member of Stephen Ministries.
Linda and Larry enjoyed traveling and managed to visit 48 of 50 states and especially looked forward to their yearly visit to Gulf Shores, Ala., each winter with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include husband, Larry, of the home; six children, Rick (Dianne) Harter, Suzanne (John) Novotny, Carol (Terry) Magelssen, Steve (Donna) Steiner, Duane (Vivian) Steiner, and Diane (Brian) Wink; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren (with three more on the way); brother, Mike (Shirley) Pitts; and many cousins.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 23, at Christ Lutheran Church in Overland Park.
