Loretta Ann (Strahm) Wiegand, of Eureka, Ill., died Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka.
She was born on Feb 13, 1942, in Bern, to Emil and Grace (Blunier) Strahm. She married Elton Wiegand on Nov. 27, 1960.
Loretta was a CNA for 24 years, always giving of herself to family and many others as a mom, grandmother and homemaker, working along with her husband on the farm. Loretta was a faithful member of the Eureka Apostolic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter-in-law Debra (Herring) Wiegand.
Survivors include her husband, Elton; four sons, Greg (Lynn Eastman) Wiegand of Glendale, Ariz., Stan (Marilyn Metzger) Wiegand of Seneca, Merle Wiegand of Chillicothe, Ill., and Brian (Tina Martin) Wiegand of Eureka, Ill.; two brothers, Stanley (Linda) Strahm of Lincoln, Neb., and Wilfred (Verona) Strahm of Sabetha; two sisters, Joyce (Dale) Dorsch and Ardena (Jack) Kuenzi, both of Bern; 12 grandchildren, Leah, Ellen, Laura, Naomi, Joel, Simon, Bret, Keith (Lana), Kaylene, Kelton, Kendall and Konnor; and one great-grandson, Toby.
Loretta’s funeral was held Saturday, June 23, at the Eureka Apostolic Church. Her seven grandsons carried her to her final resting place in the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
