Raptors split with Marysville

The Sabetha Raptors hit the road Sunday, July 1, for a doubleheader in Marysville, after playing at home for a full week. Sabetha would split the wins with Marysville as they would win the first game and Marysville would win the second.

Game one

Marysville score their one and only run of the game in the first inning, but Sabetha tied it up in the second and pulled away in the third when they scored five runs in the third and seven in the fourth. Sabetha claimed the first win, 13-1.

Joe Gruber went three for three at the plate and tallied three RBIs, while Seth Burdick and Blake Frey went two for three at the plate, scoring two runs each. Burdick also drove in two RBIs, while Frey managed one RBI.

Game two

Marysville started off scoring one run in the first and five more in the second inning, while Sabetha only scored two runs in the second. Marysville continued to advance their lead and would win the second game, 9-2.

Brett Stallbaumer, Riley Herrmann, Brandon Brownlee and Frey each tallied a hit during the game, while Herrmann and Ryan Stapleton each tallied one run each.
