Post Secondary Graduation: Boston University

Joy Huber celebrates receiving her master’s degree at a local reception in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sunday, June 24.

Joy Huber – currently living in the Lincoln, Neb. area – recently received her master’s degree in health communication from Boston University in Boston, Mass. Huber completed this program online, while working full-time. Huber’s graduation ceremony was held Saturday, May 19, at Agganis Arena in Boston.

Huber and her mother, Susie Kreifel-Huber, and sister Brenda Huber Adkins flew to Boston on May 11 for a week’s vacation in the Boston area ahead of the ceremony. The trio greatly enjoyed exploring Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket before spending a few days touring the city of Boston.

On Sunday, June 24, Huber hosted a local reception for family and friends to celebrate this accomplishment in Lincoln, Neb., at Sheridan Lutheran Church. Cake and punch were served.

Huber is a 1994 graduate of Sabetha High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Peru State College in secondary education and language arts in 1999.

Huber is a stage four young adult cancer survivor, and the author of “Cancer with JOY,” published by Morgan James Publishing of New York City.
