Nemaha County Free Fair is next weekend

The 2018 Nemaha County Free Fair is scheduled for Thursday, July 26, through Monday, July 30, at the Nemaha County Fairgrounds in Seneca. The weekend will be filled with food, livestock judging, exhibits, Barnyard Olympics, tractor pulls, musical entertainment and many more activities.

For meals, the 4-H Council Food Stand will be offered at the Nemaha County Community Building from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, and 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday. Also on Friday is the Nemaha Pork Producers BBQ at the Show Arena at 6 p.m. The 4-H Council BBQ will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, at the Show Arena, followed by Ambassador Root Beer Floats at 6:30 p.m. On Monday, the Prairie Hills FFA Alumni Barbecue will be offered at 5:30 p.m. at the Show Arena. Food Truck Concessions will be open on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Thursday, July 26: 6:30 p.m., Horse Show at the Horse Arena.

Friday, July 27: 7:30 to 10 a.m., 4-H Exhibits and Open Class check in; 9:30 a.m., 4-H Food Judging begins; 10 a.m., All 4-H Exhibits, Open Class and Woodworking, Electric and Metals judged; 11 a.m., Cloverbuds Consultation; Noon, 4-H Food Sale Begins; 2 to 4:30 p.m., Bucket Calf Consultation Judging; 5 to 10 p.m., Inflatables at Fairgrounds; 6:30 p.m., 4H and FFA Hog Show; 7 p.m., Hot Air Balloon Rides.

Saturday, July 28: 8 a.m., 4-H and FFA Meat Goat Show followed by Sheep Show; 8:30 a.m., Rabbits and Poultry judged in North Barn; 10 a.m., Pie Baking Contest; 11 a.m., 4-H Bucket Calf Show; 12:30 p.m., 4-H and FFA Dairy Show followed by Open Class Dairy Show and 4-H Dairy Goat Show; 1 to 8 p.m., Inflatable Rock Wall at Fairgrounds; 5 to 10 p.m., Inflatables at Fairgrounds; 6:30 p.m., 4-H and FFA Beef Show, followed by Open Class Beef Show; 7 p.m., Team Penning at Horse Arena.

Sunday, July 29: 12:30 p.m., Vodvill Circus Slapstick Stage Show at Fairgrounds; 1 p.m., Pedal Power Tractor Pull at High School Parking Lot; 1:30 p.m., Public 4-H Style Revue at Community Building; 3 p.m., Barnyard Olympics and Summer Time Fun at Fairgrounds; 4 p.m., Vodvill Circus Slapstick Stage Show at Fairgrounds; 5 to 10 p.m., Inflatables at Fairgrounds; 6:30 p.m., Parade “Color Your Life with 4-H;” 8 p.m., Mutton Bustin’ at Horse Arena; 8:30 p.m., Topeka Drum Line Performance at Fairgrounds.

Monday, July 30: 9 a.m., 4-H Hand Pet Show at Community Building; 10 a.m., 4-H Livestock Judging Contest in Show Arena; 1 p.m., All 4-H and Open Class Exhibits released; 2 p.m., Round Robin Showmanship Contest in Show Arena; 7 p.m., Auction of Commissioner’s Cookie Jars, Presentation of Livestock Judging and Round Robin Awards, 4-H and FFA Premium Auction.
