Morrill City Council 7.2.18

The Morrill City Council met in regular session Monday, July 2, with members Kevin Wikle, Todd Gruber, Dan Halstead and Robert Baumgartner present. Council President Todd Gruber presided. Superintendent Lee Wymer also was present.
Minutes and vouchers were approved.
Wikle said an old house is still going to be torn down. Nothing has been heard from the attorney concerning shutting off the water at a residence with a sewer violation. The Council approved a building permit.
The Council discussed additional costs to put in the 2019 budget.
The Council approved the Request for Record form. The council decided to get more information concerning what records are open to the public.
Ashley Martinez has issued several tickets of violation. Martinez mentioned other properties that need cleaned up. Council told her to proceed with ticketing the owners of those properties. After discussion of the old church, the Council decided to start the procedures to get the property cleaned up. It was decided to have Martinez ticket another individual to have the owner do some repairs to his house.
Wymer stated he has not found the material to put on the park benches to allow him to paint them. Wymer stated he will look in Topeka when he is there.
Baumgartner stated he had talked the Fire Chief finding the Fire Department will be sounding the siren in the event of a tornado warning.
