ARRESTS

Paige Martinez, 27, of Bern was arrested on Aug. 6 by Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office on a Nemaha County warrant for failure to appear. She remains in custody with bond set at $500.

Jennifer Judd, 35, of Falls City, Neb., was arrested on Aug. 7 by the Sabetha Police Department on warrants for failure to appear from Nemaha County and Brown County. Bond is set at $213 for Nemaha County and $250 for Brown County.

Candace Mortorff was released to the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections on Aug. 9.

ACCIDENTS

At 5:13 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, Valerie Rico-Palacios, 21, of Clay Center, was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 36 when she drifted left of the centerline, overcorrected, lost traction and slid sideways into the south ditch. She was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla. More than $1,000 damage is estimated.

REPORTED CRIMES / INCIDENT RESPONSES

Some time prior to July 27, an unknown person or persons removed a washing machine and deep freeze from the garage located at 1587 164th Road in Oneida. It is approximately a $700 loss.
