Governing Body: Sabetha City Commission 9.10.18
The Sabetha City Commission met at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10. Present were Mayor Doug Clark; Commissioners Norm Schmitt, Maridel Wittmer, Julie Burenheide and Nick Aberle; Assistant City Administrator Bill Shroyer and City Clerk Steve Compo. City Administrator Doug Allen was absent.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Clark opened a public hearing regarding the benefit district assessment of the Prairie View Heights addition to the City of Sabetha. Receiving no public comment, the hearing was closed.
Commissioners approved Ordinance No. 1532, levying assessments on the lots in Prairie View Heights, for the purpose of paying part of the cost of constructing certain sanitary improvements and certain street and electrical system improvements. See Ordinance No. 1532 on page 9A of this week’s Herald.
Commissioners also approved Resolution No. 2018-17, authorizing the sale of Taxable General Obligation Bonds, Series 2018-A and 2018-B. The sale of Series 2018-A Bonds is for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing the Benefit District Improvements. The sale of the Series 2018-B Bonds is for the purpose of constructing the Main Trafficway Improvements on Sixth Street.

Commissioners approved the minutes from the Aug. 27 meeting and the mayor’s signature on a plat for the Midwest Ready Mix plant.
