Brown County Commission 9.17.18
The Board of Brown County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, Sept. 17, with the following members present: Chairman Steve Roberts, Dwight Kruse and Keith Olsen. Also present was County Clerk Melissa Gormley. County Attorney Kevin Hill was present for a portion of the meeting.
Carol Speidel requested use of the Brown County Courthouse Lobby from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, for the 25th annual Tuba Christmas. The request was approved.
County Attorney Hill met with the commissioners to discuss the Contract Attorney Services for Brown County. Meghan Voracek requested to terminate her contract in 30 days. Hill recommended that the commissioners review the contract. Commissioners accepted Voracek’s resignation.
Judd Herbster of Herbster Law Firm, L.L.C., sent a contract to the commissioners for the position. This contract was approved from Oct. 1 through the remainder of the year.

Commissioners approved the Sept. 10 minutes.
The Sept. 12 payroll was approved as follows: General, $69,500.34; Road and Bridge, $13,287; Election, $245.77; Technology, $609.44; Appraiser, $6,320.02; Noxious Weed, $1,525.50; ACC, $6,241.83; JJA Core, $6,954.77; Reinvestment Grant, $1,696.05; Services for Elderly, $2,320.50; Solid Waste, $3,839; Special MVT, $1,380.01; Employee Benefit FICA, $7,331.87; and Employee Benefit KPERS, $8,754.60. After State Unemployment/Workers Compensation of $130.18 and Insurance of $2,085.53 were taken out, the total was $127,790.99.
Commissioners entered into a five-minute executive session on non-elected personnel with Hill to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel with executive session necessary to protect privacy interests. No binding action was taken.
The next regular meeting was held Monday, Sept. 24. These minutes were not available at The Herald’s press time.
