Kanza Mental Health and Guidance Center hires new CEO
Kanza Mental Health and Guidance Center has recently hired David Jasper to lead the center forward as Chief Executive Officer. He began his duties on Aug. 1, 2018, and is dedicated to learning this new position. He comes to Kanza with more than 19 years of leadership experience as executive director at Mosaic in Garden City, an agency providing services for people with intellectual disabilities.
His professional accomplishments include developing individuals by helping them to move up the chain in his ability to recognize skills and accomplishments of others; and being able to analyze numbers and being able to watch budgets when they are tight. He has been able to turn an operation around that was losing money and turn it into a profitable operation within his first year of employment.
Jasper believes that having clear communication and being able to really talk about what is going on is a strength that he has. He has a collaborative open door policy and looks forward to developing trust and open communication for all.
He believes in the mission of Kanza, “Offering Hope to Build a Better Tomorrow.” He also realizes the importance of relationships and the need to build partnerships with other agencies and providers to meet the needs of the community. Jasper looks forward to learning more about the communities in the counties that Kanza serves — Brown, Doniphan, Jackson and Nemaha.
Jasper is fitting in well at Kanza, and staff is adjusting quite well to his style of leadership. Staff are looking forward to the positive changes the future holds for Kanza and the people we serve.
