Law Enforcement Report: Nemaha County Sheriff


Travis Rusche, 35, of Seneca was arrested on Sept. 21 by the Seneca Police Department (PD) on charges of domestic battery. Rusche was released on Sept. 22, on a $1,000 surety bond. Court is set for 5 p.m. on Oct. 17.

William Carr, 63, of Seneca was released on Sept. 18 on a $15,000 own recognizance bond. Court is set for 9 a.m. on Nov. 1.

Bryson R. Johnson, 20, of Centralia was arrested on Sept. 23 by the Seneca PD for the offense of minor in consumption. He was released on $300 cash bond with a court date of Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m.


At 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, Steven J. Speiser, 61, of Ponca City, Okla., was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 75, 0.3 mile north of 200th. Kevin A. Wendt, 51, of Effingham also was traveling southbound behind Speiser and attempted to pass. The vehicles made contact. Speiser was driving a 2010 Pontiac G6, and Wendt was driving a 2015 Dodge pickup. Damage was listed at more than $1,000.
