Sabetha gears up for Regionals with Hayden competition

For the second day in a row, the Sabetha tennis team traveled to Hayden on Tuesday, Sept. 25, to compete against Hayden, Bishop Miege and Ottawa.  The number two singles and number two doubles team went 2-1 for the day.

Senior Jessica Payne competed in number two singles. She defeated Bishop Miege and Ottawa, while falling to Hayden. Sabetha’s number two doubles team also beat Bishop Miege, and juniors Gracie Robinson and Hannah Whittaker who played in Ottawa’s number two doubles slot. Robinson and Whittaker went 0-3 throughout the day.

Senior Ashten Halls went 0-3 for the day in number one singles, while juniors Hannah Wertenberger and Kinsey Menold went 1-2 in number one doubles.

“We mixed some combos up for the this meet,” Head Coach Alicia Deters said. “I liked the combos and am looking for the best line up for regionals.”
