Club News: Brown County Genealogical Society 10.18.18

Submitted by Penny Milroy, Acting Secretary

The Oct. 18 Brown County Genealogical Society meeting was opened by President Charles Carr, with 24 members and guests present.

Acting Secretary Penny Milroy read the September minutes. Gail Coker-Carr presented the September Treasurer’s report. Both reports were approved.

Milroy reported that all 45 vendor spaces have been reserved for the Santa’s Attic Craft show on Oct. 27. The Society will also host a luncheon auction on Nov. 10 at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha.

This month’s program was by Jill Freese and Joel Myer, who gave a very interesting presentation on family tree DNA tests and how to interpret DNA results.

The next meeting will be on Nov. 15. There will be no program as this is the Annual Meeting with the election of officers for 2019.

The Dec. 20 meeting will be our annual Christmas potluck dinner starting at 6 p.m.

Meeting adjourned, with refreshments being served by Donna Trost.
