Governing Body: Brown County Commission
The Board of Brown County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, Nov. 19. Members present were Keith Olsen and Dwight Kruse. Also present were County Clerk Melissa Gormley and Deputy County Clerk Dawn Boyles.
Courthouse Janitor Buzz Siebenmorgen updated the commission on the recent elevator repairs. Also discussed were the contents of the basement and the need for clean-up. The commission recommended Gormley contact each department about the clean-up. Deadline will be Jan. 1, 2019, at which time the commission will look at bringing in a shredding company.
Jeremy Stover met with the commission regarding his Emergency Vehicle Permit. Stover would like the opportunity to speak with the commission about his permit. Commissioner Kruse told Stover they have not had the chance to review the citation issued to Stover.
County Attorney Kevin Hill met with the commission via phone about the Emergency Vehicle Permit in question. Hill requested to table the issue until next Monday so he can review the police report.
Gormley discussed an issue with KPERS from an employee from 1978 through 1979. Gormley will contact Hill to review the payroll records.

The commissioners approved Malachi Oswald for an Emergency Vehicle Permit.
No bids were received for a new HVAC system at the Sheriff’s Department.
The commissioners approved the Tuesday, Nov. 13, minutes.
The next regular meeting was held Monday, Nov. 26. These minutes were not available at The Herald’s press time.
