Sabetha PTO met at the Sabetha Elementary School Library at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. Present were President Kara Tramp, Vice President Jennifer Ploeger, Secretary Hannah Dettwyler, Treasurer Jeanelle Plattner, and Anita Meyer. 

Minutes and agenda were approved as read on a motion by Jennifer Ploeger and seconded by Jeanelle Plattner. Jeanelle Plattner read the Treasurer’s report. Hannah Dettwyler read all correspondence.

Committee Reports: Fundraising

Labels: It was reported that $39.80 was raised in November for Box Tops and $12 raised in Best Choice labels. An email will be sent out in January to remind parents and inform us which class is in the lead.

Bluejay Gear: A few more shirts were sold in November making our running total for this school year $721.75. There are still a few more shirts left if anyone is interested.

Cake Raffles: The next raffles will be Jan. 24 and Feb. 8.

Give to Grow: Nine donations totaling $450 were collected by PTO.

Taco Feed: The sign-up email was sent out again as there are still a few spots that need to be filled.

School Supplies: Miranda Young has someone in mind to train next year as her replacement.

Committee Reports: Projects and Giving

Classroom Enhancement Program: The deadline for the spring funding cycle is Jan. 15.

Student-Centered Classroom Parties: Emails have been sent out reminding the head room parents of classroom party policies.

Spelling Bee: The Bee will be held at the Sabetha Middle School at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4.

Teacher-Centered Early Release Treats: Reminders were sent out before Dec. 7.

Holiday Giving Trees: Emails were sent and a post on social media was made reminding parents of the Holiday Giving Trees hanging in the main SES hallway.

Support Staff Appreciation: Jeanelle Plattner reported that some adjustments will need to be made on the food amounts.

Spring Parent-Teacher Conference Meal: This will take place in early February. Meal ideas were discussed but final decisions on this were tabled until next meeting.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7.
