The United 4 Youth Countywide board met for the their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Sabetha Board Office. Members present were Jason Drahota, Wendy Lierz, Jessica Atwood, Brianna Gruber, Heather Stewart, Krista Stallbaumer and executive director Sarah Renyer. There was also one guest present.

The board approved November minutes.

Stewart gave the treasurer’s report. The board decided to move a donation check the coalition received to the Give to Grow account. The board also replaced Scott Anson as the grant auditor. The new auditor will start in January.

Stewart gave the grant coordinator’s report. Renyer discussed the grant training that the coalition attended and what information was presented. Stewart gave the board an update on the Family Week, Talk They Hear You and It Matters action plans.

Renyer gave the director’s report. She shared with the board the monthly reports from the county SADD groups. She also told the board that she and Stallbaumer attended the Nemaha County Commissioners meeting, but plan to return after the first of the year to discuss further funding from the county.

Renyer also said that Nemaha Central SADD students attended the Seneca City Council meeting to request funding for the upcoming year. The Seneca City Council agreed to donate $2,500 to the group.

Renyer also presented the board with the results from the Give to Grow event. Renyer also presented on the Resist grant that United 4 Youth received. Renyer is going to work with schools about trying to get policies in place regarding juuling and vaping.

Old Business

Social Media Campaign: The board discussed the possibility of starting a new social media campaign.

New Business

Equipment Purchase: The board discussed purchasing a computer for the new executive director who was hired.

Mentor and Sponsor Payments: December payments will be made to the mentor coordinators and SADD sponsors by the end of December.

Bylaws: The board discussed making changes to some of the bylaws regarding sector turnover. This discussion was tabled.

The next meeting will be held in Centralia in January. The dates is still to be determined.
